Triangle Capella integrates high-definition wireless music streaming into a pair of powered stand-mounted speakers, eliminating the need for a separate amplifier or separate music streamer, giving users a "compact stereo hub" for music, home theater, and even gaming. .
Each speaker is a two-way design featuring Triangle's signature 25mm magnesium dome horn tweeter and 16.5cm thick cellulose membrane midrange driver. All are equipped with dual Class D amplification for a total output of 200W (100W each) . Triangle's Digital Signal Processor (DSP) controls driver behavior to optimize system performance, while the digitally controlled crossover aims for a "perfectly linear frequency response" that should result in deeper, better-controlled bass tones and a clearer, more balanced soundstage . .
Triangle markets Capella as an extremely versatile and flexible system, incorporating a range of inputs and outputs. The Capella boasts one stereo RCA input, a coaxial input, and a USB Type B input, plus three optical inputs, plus an HDMI ARC input for connecting speakers to your TV as a soundbar alternative.
You can stream any music from your smartphone, tablet or laptop to the Capella system, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities on board, UPnP streaming, AirPlay, Chromecast, Spotify Connect and Roon Ready available. High resolution files up to 24 bit/192 kHz are supported. Unlike all-in-one speaker systems like the KEF LS50 Wireless II, the Capella comes with a small, separate "stereo hub" that acts as the nerve center for all streaming and physical connections. The hub is a WISA transmitter and connects wirelessly to the speakers, providing 24-bit/96kHz high-resolution streaming via WISA.
It's also a smart setup: room acoustics can be calibrated via the Capella system. You can use the mobile app and your smartphone's microphone to calculate and analyze the room in which the speakers are installed, and the app to adjust and optimize measurements to provide the best sound for that space. You can further customize the sound manually in the app, which allows you to optimize the sound of your speakers by directly controlling the response curve and adjusting the EQ settings to suit your preferences. An optional Zen microphone is also available for more accurate room calibration measurements.
As much as the speaker system actually sounds, the speakers themselves are certainly pleasing to the eye. Triangle Capella stands include high-density cabinets that create a luxurious aesthetic with a lacquered walnut exterior. The speakers are mounted on an aluminum base for greater airflow around the port, and the more rounded cabinet shape provides clearer sound by reducing audio interference transmitted to the listener.
The Triangle Capella audio system is now available in four finishes - Black Star, Astral Blue, Space White, Brown Nebula - at a standard price of €2,499.
